I don't have much to say now because I'm short on time.

The location is El Paso Texas on top of Trans Mountain road.  After a bit of a hike I was somewhere around 6500 feet up at the summit and found this spectacular view.

Hope you all like it.

“...And we shouldn’t be here at all, if we’d known more about it before we started. But I suppose it’s often that way. I've been following my site stats and wanted to thank all my visitors for stopping by. School has consumed my free time, which means I have a mental backlog of designs to produce. Luckily I'll have finished my bachelors in just over a week and will finally have a chance to start doing what I love again. Hopefully ill have a chance to get back to work soon.

Thanks again for stopping by,

I was sitting at my desk working on all manners of this and thats when I decided to take a brake, and put on a little Futurama.  I forget which episode it was but I had an idea for a Tinny Tim robo design.  After a bit of fidgeting and coloring options I ended going with a suggestion my brother gave me, the old iPod ads.

There's more I wanna say, but need to get back to work.

Hope you'all dig it and click on the preview for a full res image.

A while a go I picked up a Kindle as my carry all book.  I was a little tired of my novels and my work fighting for position in my bag.

Anyhow, I love it and I recommend it, but I also felt like I needed to protect it.  In general the cases I was looking at ran around 50 to 60 bucks.  At that time I had a little extra spending money so I jumped over to etsy.com.  I really wanted to support the little guy instead of these massive retailers.  After a little digging I found a man who would do whatever leather work I wanted as long as I provide the design.  After about 8 versions of the Hogwarts shield, 5 color variations, 2 stitching renders, and about 3 clasps I finally created the case I wanted.  I rendered the design opened and closed in PShop and sent him the instructions.  About 3 weeks later, the leather man finished the work and sent me my case.

Hope you all like it.

PS. If anybody out there’s interested in picking up a kindle and have questions I’d be more than happy to answer, there’s all kinds of fun ways to get free books.

Over the past couple of years a growing fondness for sports has been germinating every so steadily within.  I still don’t care for watching basketball; I now await football season, and can’t get enough of going to baseball parks to let Americas past time waste my time (especially with a beer and dog in had).  So when the U.S. is on an international stage sporting their athletic prowess very much representing the world empire that is America, I had to come up with a design.  I was going for simple, classic, and as my cousin so poignantly worded “iconic”.  Every bit of this is instantly perceivable and recognizable, not because of my capacity but because of histories stamp on our world culture.

I hope you all like the wallpaper.

As usual click on the preview for a full resolution image.

Thank you for stoping by.

This thing’s been an on again off again love affair.  After much editing, and countless shades of blue I finally offer up the Sonic lock & home screen iPhone (4 and 4s) set.  As with all the other designs I always end up liking the lock screen more than the home screen.  Maybe cause I feel free from having to recreate something in a limited space.  Instead I get to brain fart all over the place and come up with something new.  I like the lock screen so much I’ve been thinking of turning it into a desktop wallpaper.  If anybody’s interested shoot me a message.  Than again I may create it just because I love playing on my computer.

As usual I’ll save everybody from my horrid writing skills, keep this one short, and offer up my work for download.

Hope you all like it.  Click on the images for their full res versions.

iPhone Ringtones:

Android Ringtones:

Here’s a zip with the theme as a package.

I needed to go out and use my camera.  My macro, in a new way.  A better way.  I’m tired of bugs, flowers, and perfect nature.  I wanted an eroded subject with an eroded narrative.

Im gonna keep this short.  I need to get back to work.

First is my Harry Potter Kindle case.

This thing is gonna be amazing.  The first image is of a rendering I gave the maker, the second image is what he sent back, the third is color test for the inside of the cover.  I really wanted this thing to be very Harry Potter universe-y.  So the outside is branded with a Hogwarts shield I designed off the original.  Not a lot of changes were made.  I wanted to keep it real looking, I just had to minimize what was there, minimize to the point of clean, but not unrecognizable.  I’m proud of it.  The inner design is a T. M. Riddle script I came up with.  There’s some pride here too.  I figure Riddle is a snot nosed brat, steeling from his fellow orphans, hurting them, blaming shit on Hagrid.  Because of that he has a little attitude in his quillmanship.  Anwho here they are feel free to follow the links for high res versions of each. Shield T.M.Riddle

Second is Sonic.

This is taking forever.  There’s a lot more detail in the sonic universe than I had originally presumed.  I got kinda tired working on the inner fill, and realized I never checked for lighting.  It might be off, I might have to redo them so I moved on to enemy filling. First bad guy to go on is Dr. Robonik.  I wanted to show you an image of the work flow.  First is a good reference image, than I create my spite, finally I place it.  The problem is that some of them have a lot of detail like our guy here and Bowsers castle from the SMBW theme.  I’ll sit here for hours hoping things look good when I zoom out.  To give you an idea of scale the first two images are at 1200%, the last was at 100%.  Hope you all like’em.

I wan't to apologize for the late update.  I'm now 10 weeks away from earning my bachelors and it's been the prime focus in my life.

I have been designing in my free time, and I can't wait to go back out with my camera.  I have two pretty great shots planned.

But for the pretties, that's why people come here, not my bad grammar.

First Sonic

I hit a hard wall with this one.  I'm just shy of hating the platform on the far right.  I need to figure something out but I keep drawing blanks.

As usual click on the image for a full res version if you wanna test out an early preview.

Second what's really been taking up my bits of free time.

Not too long ago I picked up a Kindle Touch.  If you're a reader buy one, it feels like a future book, I'm in love with mine.  Anywho, like all gadget nerds I want to protect my newest toy, and after much searching and almost buying, it still doesn't have a case.  Suddenly I have a genius idea and go to ETSY.  I truly believe in supporting the little guy; to find an artisan in todays times of mass produced garbage is a true find.  It's been a phenomenal experience so far.  Designing your product from the ground up is a thrilling ride, I can't wait till it's done.

Here's the cover.  I'm still tweaking the design, and the guy from ETSY was kind enough to do an early tooling for me, keep in mind the leather still needs to be dyed.

Click the image for a higher res version if you wanna check it out.

I’ve been talking to him about the inside of the cover.  I’m actually really excited about this part.  I’m gonna provide the script and he’s going to tool in “T. M. Riddle”.  The location is still up in the air, I’m thinking behind the kindle.  That way it mimics the secrecy of the Riddle journal in The Chamber of Secrets.

This is going to be great.

I was having a jolly ol'time this afternoon drinking a beer on a warm cailfornia day. Sometime between me paying my bill, and walking home I lost my debt card. I take my apartment apart looking for it. Which if you've ever seen my place isn't too hard. I'm pretty sure I could stick my feet out the front door and hands out the back.
Back on point.
I call BoA to let them know and get a replacement. During the fine print portion I hear "blah blah blah, five dollars, blah blah blah. Wait what?!? "Is that okay with you sir?". "Did you say you're gonna charge me five dollars for a lost card?". "Yes, it's a processing fee.". "Can you take off the fee for me?", I should have said "please", shit. "No I can't I'm sorry". "Will you take off the fee for a guy who just lost his check card?", "No, sorry."

I fucking bailed you out you sons of bitches, and than you take another 5 dollars because I misplaced my card. Go fuck yourself Bank of America, and when your’e done... just burn in hell.  And I don't even believe in hell. I just like the idea of little red men poking you with forks, brimstone, sulfur and all that other nasty shit that comes from being souls cock suckers.

I know this is just a blog, from a guy, who has a little too much spare time.  But if one person out there reads this, and can understand my amazement at the heartless-thoughtlessness  of their fellow human.  Well... Than thank you for reading.

I want to apologize for the late posting.  I’ve had the set done for about 2 weeks now, but had an unfortunate family situation that kept me away from my computer.

So, sorry.

Now to the fun.  Here’s my iPhone, 8-bit, Metroid phone set.  I had a little trouble with the Lock screen, I still feel her ship looks a little too 16-bit, but all the opinions I’ve gathered so far say it’s fine I’m just crazy.  Which I’m cool with, I know my brain doesn’t work that well.  The Home screen took forever and went through two different versions.  I like this one, it’s basic and by todays standards so is the NES.

As with the Zelda set I decided to drop in a Ringtone and Text alert.

Iphone (Ringtone) (Text Alert)

Android (Ringtone) (Text Alert)

Well that’s that.  Hope you all like them.

Thanks for stopping by.

My little Star Flower

I’ll keep this one short I promise.

I hadn't gone out with my camera gear in a long while and it’s been beautiful outside.  So I pack my back pack tight, my shoes strapped on and I head out.  About 2 hours in is this tiny little Star Flower (at least that’s what I call it), there’s only two, very small, very delicate, but bright and stunningly bold.  I can’t say no, I’m a sucker for the little engine that could, and this engine is no larger than a penny.

I gear down, set up.  My trusty 180mm macro for my new plucky liddle buddy.  Blah, the camera feels a bit awkward.  I fiddle with buttons, twist some knobs, flip around a couple menus and I’m finally ready.  SNAP! SNAP! SNAP!...(FIDDLE)...(TWIST)...(FLIP)...SNAP! SNAP! SNAP! I want to stay and shoot more, but I might be allergic to something out here, and I’m tired from all this hiking. It’s time to head back home.

I couldn’t decide between color or black and white So I figured fuck.  Why not do both.

I imagine it's what a engineer feels like as he's constructing blue prints for a new machine.

Maybe like an artist who has an image in mind that they want to share with the world.

Not to think I'm anywhere near level of "artist" or "engineer".  I'm just a guy who likes to play with his computer.  Anywho, to make an already long story short.  I was eating pistachios and had and idea for a series of images, add a little text,  pepper in some pretty and hopefully I made something that isn't totally garbage.  Mostly garbage I'm okay with, hopefully it's not total garbage.

Here's a link to a higher res version and the full res version.

This set is long over due so I'm just gonna jump strait in.

Lock Screen:  It being the 25th anniversary I wanted to do something different.  Every color and character means something if you know Zelda games.

The Home screen.  I really tried hard to get some of the elements from all the major levels in here.  I had trouble with a Ganon's final level.  It's always in some different time or in the sky so I just used a graveyard instead.  It's kind of a twofer, both scary and in all the games.

Click on the images above for the full res originals that fit oh so sweet on your iPhone4 & 4s

As a special little gift I'm bringing back the Navi text alert.  Place all these together and you're good and geeked out for a while.  I dont wanna brag but us nerds are pretty much the shit.

I don't know if this is fortunate or unfortunate but I've been doing some serious thinking.  Esentially trimming the fat off my life.  I'm starting to layout a new lifeplan/roadmap and I don't think I have the time for Photo/Design/Editing, and being (in this case being = living).  I usually have to drive out to locations and waste a day preping and shooting, than I come home and spend over 10 hours editing.  Sometime its more, in the area of 50 hours.  I love it.  I'm sad it cant be my livelyhood.

"Time wishing is time wasted" - Dr. Jan Itor.

I imagine I'll still post pretties from time to time, but not often.

This time it's something new.  Nothing big, just something beautiful I saw and wanted to share.

I hope you all appreciate it.  Not that I took a video, on my phone and used computer magic to post it.  No.  I hope you all can appreciate the magic out sun resting after a hard days work.
